Rules and Guidelines

Rules and Guidelines for Re-translation Requests

1) DO NOT simply download our scans and edit over them. A lot of raws are available through the wonderful World Wide Web, and if you can’t find any we would be happy to provide you with our copies. However, if you do use our copies, you’ll, of course, need to ask us for them in your request, and provide us credit as your raw providers.

2) If the project is a joint project, you must contact/get permission from the partner group. If they do not consent, we will also reject your request. Consent is a two-way street!

3) Requests are granted at a first-come-first-serve basis. If another group has already been approved to translate a project in a certain language, we will not permit a different group to translate in that same language. Sorry, we just want to keep the peace and discourage any unwanted competition.

4) You will credit us (whoever was responsible for translating, which can be found on the credits page in each chapter release) as the original English translators. If you would like our logo to include on your website/credits page, let us know. We expect to see credits on both your credits pages AND on your websites. Believe me, checks will be conducted. If you think we wouldn’t have the time to do those, you’re sadly mistaken about the amount of spare time we have on our hands.

5) You MUST check our List of Re-translation Groups before you send us a request. This page is readily available and there is no reason you should skip this step. If you send us a request for a project that’s already been taken, your correspondence will go unanswered.

6) If a group becomes inactive for at least six months (about 185 days), you may ask to pick up re-translating their projects. You should be able to provide proof that the group is completely inactive (no releases, no website activity, no updates, no anything). It would be wise to contact these groups and see if they reply before asking us for permission.

7) If you ask for permission for one of our future/upcoming projects (i.e. one that doesn’t have any releases yet), chances are we’re going to say no. You’ll have to wait until we release something before you can claim it. There’s no “dibs” on upcoming/future projects. That’s just not fair.

If there is anything we’ve missed here, please bring it up in your request. We hope that everyone will be respectful of each other and our rules. If we grant someone else permission, please don’t take it personally—because here at Wildflower Scans, nothing is!
